Electives

Musical Theater Dance- students need to wear comfortable clothes that they are able to move in and light weight sneakers or jazz or ballet shoes. Hair needs to be pulled back into a bun or ponytail.



Ballet- students need to wear a black leotard, black ballet skirt, pink tights and pink ballet shoes or a white shirt, black pants and black or white ballet shoes. Hair needs to be pulled back into a bun or ponytail.

Amberly Steffensen-

Amberly began her dance training in 1984 at North Coast Ballet in San Diego. She studied many styles of dance including Jazz, Flamenco, Contemporary and Modern but her main focus was classical Ballet. She studied under renowned teachers such as David Howard, Gelsey Kirkland, Sonia Arova and Stanley Holden. In 1993 she moved to the North State and was coached privately by Nuria L. Lovett. In 1998 she joined Redding City Ballet. She performed in numerous ballets including The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Carmen, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Billy the Kid and many other original works. She worked as assistant artist director, principal dancer, choreographer and director of the children’s division until 2011. During this time she attended many summer workshops and teaching courses including American Theater Ballet, City Ballet and San Diego Ballet.She also taught ballet at Dance Depot from 2017-2023. She has been teaching dance and choreographing for Redding School of the Arts since 2006.
